Operation Drake

- a series of scientific and other projects involving young people from all over the world and a British sailing ship, Eye of the Wind, as a floating base CultureIt was started by Prince Charles and lasted for two years (1978-80), during which the ship sailed completely round the world, as Sir Francis Drake had done 400 years before. It was followed in 1980 by Operation Raleigh, which then developed into a regular international event for young people. The events and the charity that organizes them are now known as Raleigh International.
