Brideshead Revisited

/ˌbraɪdzhed riːˈvɪzɪtɪd/
- a novel (1945) by Evelyn Waugh. It is the story of an Oxford student who becomes involved with a rich but tragic Catholic family in England. The family's large country home is called Brideshead. The book was made into a very successful television series in the 1980s. The British public enjoyed watching how the upper classes of a period in the past dressed, spoke and behaved towards each other, and the series influenced fashions and other television programmes.
