- Charles Arthur Floyd (1901-34) a US criminal who robbed banks in the Midwest during the Great Depression and was for a time Public Enemy No 1. Some Americans admired him because he gave money to poor people, but he also murdered about ten men, including two FBI officers. He was finally killed by the FBI in a field in Ohio.
