Project HOPE

- a US charity that provides medical help, medical training and health education in other countries. Doctors and nurses work without payment for the organization, which receives financial support from individuals, companies and governments. It was started by Dr Bill Walsh in 1958 with the SS Hope, a hospital ship that visited different countries from 1960 to 1974. HOPE stands for Health Opportunities for People Everywhere.
