John Huston

- (1906-89) a US film director, actor and writer. He won an Oscar for The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, which he directed and wrote. He and his father, the actor Walter Huston, both acted in it. Other films that he directed include The Maltese Falcon, The African Queen (1952), Moby-Dick, The Misfits (1960), The Dead (1987) and Prizzi's Honor (1985) for which his daughter, Anjelica Huston, won an Oscar as Best Actress.
