His best-known books are humorous novels about Discworld, a strange, flat planet where imaginary beings such as witches (= women with evil magic powers) and dragons (= fierce creatures that can fly and breathe out fire) live. They include The Colour of Magic (1983), Small Gods (1992) and Snuff (2011).
