- a very large US media and entertainment company selling magazines, films, television programmes and internet services all over the world. It was formed as Time Warner in 1989 when the magazine company Time Inc joined with the film company Warner Brothers. In 1996 it bought the Turner Broadcasting System which owns CNN. Its magazines include Time and Sports Illustrated. In 2000 it joined with AOL to form the world's largest media company. In 2018, the company's name was changed to WarnerMedia.
