“We’re still fighting the battle, and still trying to be good Samaritans and good neighbors to everybody,” said Shalaby, who is also a civil engineer.

Other famous works in the acquired collection include Rembrandt's Landscape with the Good Samaritan and drawings by the French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir.

The collection includes some 86,000 objects, among them da Vinci’s “Lady with an Ermine” and Rembrandt’s “Landscape with the Good Samaritan.”
