The severe affections of the eye described by continental writers—blennorrhoea, keratitis, iritis, etc.—are certainly very rare in this country as complications of measles.

In this stage iritis is liable to occur, and if it is not properly diagnosed and treated it will result in blindness.

The conjunctiva was intensely congested, and there were lachrymation and very marked photophobia, but there were no signs of iritis, and no corneal clouding.
