A pas de deux is a two-person ballet dance, usually a duet for a man and a woman. If you're a fan of pas de deux, check out the ballet "Swan Lake."
If you've seen a classical ballet, you've probably watched a pas de deux. The most classic type, the grand pas de deux, includes five sections that together tell a brief love story. In French, pas de deux means "step of two." Less commonly, a ballet might include a pas de trois, for three dancers, or a pas de quatre, for four.
