The urn holding the ashes of Poland's filmmaker Andrzej Wajda is placed for a farewell ceremony, in Krakow, Poland, Wednesday, Oct.

Later Wednesday, Wajda was to be laid to rest at Krakow’s historic Salwator Cemetery, where the movie director’s mother is buried.

Wajda, who received an honorary lifetime achievement Oscar in 2000, died in a hospital Oct.
