During a cleanup of the small camp Thursday afternoon, someone found the body in a sleeping bag under debris, a police lieutenant said.

Berdnik says a Woodland Park police lieutenant witnessed the accident and provided medical attention until an ambulance arrived.

A police lieutenant told the Sun Journal newspaper, “It’s a tragic, unfortunate incident, but we’re lucky it’s going to turn out OK.”
