“There’s a tremendous amount of nervousness in the meteorology and climatology community,” Mass said.

“He’s never given credit for his pioneering work in polar climatology,” Nicandri said.

The rainfall data is used to support climatology and river forecasting, as well as agricultural, construction and recreational interests in the Norfork Lake area.
