advn

If you're going nowhere, you have no particular destination — nowhere isn't any place at at all.
If you're invited nowhere on New Year's Eve, you'll probably stay home — there's not anywhere to go. And if your dog is nowhere to be seen, he's not in your yard, the neighbor's yard, or anyplace else visible. Sometimes the word is also used to mean "a particularly boring or remote place," like when your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, or your parents warn that if you don't do well in school, you'll go nowhere in life.
