Steinwein|ˈʃtaɪnvaɪn| [Ger.] The name of a dry white wine produced in the Steinmantel vineyards, near Würzburg, Bavaria, and sold in special bottles called Bocksbeutel.
1833C. Redding Hist. & Descr. Mod. Wines vii. 206 The Steinwein of 1748, brought in 1832 seventy pounds the ahm. This may serve to show how much these wines gain by age. 1843Penny Cycl.
