▪ I. delphinine, n. Chem.|ˈdɛlfɪnaɪn| [f. Bot. L. Delphīnium the genus Larkspur.] A highly poisonous alkaloid obtained from the seeds of Delphinium Staphesagria or Stavesacre. Called also delˈphinia, and formerly ˈdelphia, delˌphina, ˈdelphine.
