‖ rancio, a. (n.) (ˈrɑːnθɪəʊ, ‖ ˈranθio) Also Rancio. [Sp., lit. ‘rancid, mature’, f. L. rancidus.] A. adj. Of wines: having the distinctive bouquet, nutty flavour, or tawny colouring characteristic of certain well-matured, fortified, or dessert wines. B. ellipt. as n. A wine of this kind.
