primitivism|ˈprɪmɪtɪvɪz(ə)m| [See -ism.] 1. Adherence to or practice of that which is primitive. Also, a belief in the desirability of a ‘return to nature’; an exaltation of simplicity or of irrationalism; the practice of primitive art.
