stromatoporoid, a. and n.|ˌstrəʊmətəʊˈpɔərɔɪd| [f. mod.L. Stromatopora (see next) + -oid.] a. adj. Pertaining to or characteristic of the Stromatoporidæ. b. n. A member of the Stromatoporidæ, a family of hydrocoralline corals of Paleozoic age, typified by the genus Stromatopora.
