Dinas|ˈdɪnəs| [f. Dinas Rock, in the Vale of Neath, Wales.] Used attrib. in Dinas brick, fire-brick made from Dinas clay, a kind of rock consisting almost entirely of silica.
1875Hunt & Rudler Ure's Dict. Arts (ed. 7) I. 532 Stone bricks..are manufactured at Neath, in Glamorganshire... They are usually known as the ‘Dinas bricks’. 1879Encycl. Brit.
