dipnoous, a.|ˈdɪpnəʊəs| Also erron. dipnous. [f. mod.L. dipno-us (in pl. Dipnoi, an order of Fishes), a. Gr. δίπνο-ος with two breathing apertures, f. δι- twice + πνοή breathing, breath.] 1. Zool. Having both gills and lungs, as a dipnoan fish.
