† subeth Obs. [a. med.L. subet(h), ad. Arabic subāt ‘somnus in capite apparens’, lethargy, f. sabata to rest (cf. Sabbath). Cf. obs. F. subet.] Unhealthy or morbid sleep. subeth Avicennæ was an old name for coma.
