doxycycline Pharm.|dɒksɪˈsaɪkliːn| [f. d(e)oxy- (f. de- + oxy-) + tetracycline.] A broad-spectrum antibiotic, C22H24N2O8, of the tetracycline group which has a relatively long half-life in the body.
