‖ doab, duab|ˈdəʊəb, ˈduːəb| [Pers. and Urdū dōāb, lit. ‘two waters’; used in India of the tongue of land between the Ganges and Jumna, and of similar tracts in the Punjab, etc.] The ‘tongue’ or tract of land between two confluent rivers.
