echinid Zool.|ɪˈkaɪnɪd| [mod. f. Gr. ἐχῖν-ος sea-urchin + -id; cf. F. échinide.] Any member of the Echinus family. As pl. mod.L. eˈchinida is often used; also eˈchinidans in same sense.
