synanthereous, a. Bot. rare.|sɪnænˈθɛrɪəs| [f. mod.L. Synanthereæ pl. (Richard, 1801), f. Gr. σύν syn-1 + mod.L. anthēra anther: see -ous.] Belonging to the order Synanthereæ, a synonym of Compositæ, having the anthers united; syngenesious. Also synantherous |-ˈnænθərəs| a.; so synantheˈrology [-logy], the study of the Compositæ; whence synantheroˈlogical a., pertaining to synantherology; synantheˈrologist, one who studies or treats of the Compositæ.
