1. intr. To be affected with syncope; to swoon.
1490Caxton Eneydos vi. 25 Thenne dydo..bare it moche inpacyentli and sorowfully & in suche anguysshe of herte that she swowned, syncopysed, & syghed. 1597A. M. tr. Guillemeau's Fr. Chirurg. 37 b/2 Fearing least he should grow faynt, or syncopize.
