syngenite Min.|ˈsɪndʒɪnaɪt| [ad. G. syngenit (Zepharovich, 1872), f. Gr. συγγενής akin, cognate + -ite1: so named from ‘its close relation to polyhalite’ (Dana).] A hydrous sulphate of calcium and potassium, occurring in colourless or white tabular crystals; also called kaluszite.
