electrode|ɪˈlɛktrəʊd| [f. electro- + -ode (as in anode), ad. Gr. ὁδός way.] 1. a. A conductor by means of which electricity enters or leaves an electrolyte, gas, or other medium, or a vacuum. See anode and cathode.
