† ˈemerods, n. pl. Obs. Forms: 5–7 emeraudes, -odes, (5 emerawntys, -owdys, emoroyades), 7 emrods, emeroids, emerods. [ad. L. hæmorrhoïdes, a. Gr. αἱµορροίδες: see hæmorrhoids.] = hæmorrhoids. (Still sometimes used in allusions to 1 Sam. v. 6, 7, in A.V.)
