Raven, 20th-cent. psychologist, used attrib. and in the possessive with reference to non-verbal intelligence tests devised by him to measure Spearman's g factor in the ability to understand abstract relationships, solve problems, etc., and designed to be especially useful where language disadvantages exist; esp.
