tecto-|ˈtɛktəʊ| comb. form of L. tectum roof, as in ˈtectoˌcuticle Ent. (see quot. 1951); ˈtectoˌspinal a. Anat., applied to a group of nerve fibres which run from the tectum of the midbrain to the spinal cord.
