eolith Archæol.|ˈiːəʊlɪθ| [f. eo- + lith, after neolith. Cf. F. éolithe.] The name given to certain flints which have been found in Tertiary deposits in England, France, and elsewhere, which have been claimed to be the earliest traces of human handiwork, but whose origin is much disputed.
