epigyne Zool.|ˈɛpɪdʒaɪn| [ad. mod.L. epigynum, f. Gr. ἐπί epi- + γυνή woman, female. Cf. epigynous a.] The ovipositor in arachnids; the external genital plate in spiders. Also in mod.L. form epigynum |ɛpɪˈdʒaɪnəm|.
