thiophanate, n. Chem.|θaɪˈɒfəneɪt| [f. thio- + allophanate n.] A colourless crystalline substance, diethyl 4,4′-(o-phenylene)bis(3-thioallophanate), which is used as a veterinary anthelmintic and has also been used as a systemic fungicide; thiophanate methyl, dimethyl 4,4′-(o-phenylene)bis(3-thioallophanate), used as a fungicide.
