† aˈmolish, v. Obs. [a. amoliss- pr. stem of Fr. amolir ‘to remove or put away hardly, with pain, or much adoe’ Cotgr., ad. L. āmōlī-ri: see next. Cf. demolish.] To remove forcibly, do away with.
