‖ affettuoso, a. Mus.|afˌfɛttuˈoso| [It. = with feeling, affecting.] With feeling; a direction placed over a single passage, or at the commencement of a movement, ‘in which case a somewhat slow time is intended.’ Grove. Hence fig. as n.
