finitism|ˈfaɪnaɪtɪz(ə)m| [f. finite a. + -ism.] a. Philos. and Theol. The belief that the world, or some realm, or God, is finite. b. Math. The doctrine that only methods involving a finite number of steps should be used in mathematics; the rejection of actual infinities.
