afrormosia|æfrɔəˈməʊzɪə| [G. (H. Harms in Engler and Prantl Pflanzenfamilien (1906) Suppl. III. 158), f. Afro- + mod.L. Ormosia (1811), genus of trees.] A North and West African tree of the genus Afrormosia (family Leguminosæ), esp. A. laxiflora and A. elata; also, its timber.
