toxoid|ˈtɒksɔɪd| [f. toxin (cf. tox-1) + -oid.] A modification or transformation product of a toxin, in which the toxophoric group of atoms is lost, and which has therefore no toxic effect, but retains affinity for the antitoxin. Also attrib.
