Fokker|ˈfɒkə(r)| [Name of A. H. G. Fokker (1890–1939), a Dutch engineer, the inventor.] Orig. a German tractor monoplane characterized by its speed and climbing power. Later used attrib. to designate aircraft manufactured by the Fokker company in the Netherlands and elsewhere.
