ˈfrontierman, ˈfrontiersman Chiefly U.S.
[f. frontier n. + man; for the second form cf. draughtsman, tradesman.]
1. One who lives on the frontier of a country, or on the outlying districts of civilization. Legion of Frontiersmen, an organization intended to enrol for irregular service men with colonial or frontier experience.
