furcræa|fɜːˈkriːə| Also four-, crœa, -croya. [mod.L. (A. Ventenat 1793, in Bulletin des Sciences de la Société Philomathique I. 65), f. the name of the French chemist A. F. de Fourcroy (1755–1809).] A tropical American plant of the genus so named, closely related to Agave and belonging to the family Amaryllidaceæ.
