1. a. A charcoal crayon made of the wood of the Spindle Tree (F. fusain); also attrib., as in fusain drawing. b. A drawing executed with this.

2. Anglicized as |ˈfjuːzeɪn|. A friable, porous type of coal that occurs as dull layers or masses in bituminous seams; ‘mineral charcoal’.
