ˈriggal Obs. exc. dial. Also 6 rigall, 7 riggall, riggald, 9 dial. riggle. [ad. F. rigole: see rigol n. and regal n.3] 1. A groove in wood or stone.
1555in Hardwicke Misc. State Papers (1778) I. 71 The handle of the same [saw] is kept in a rigall of wood from swerving. 1609Holland Amm. Marcell. xxiii. iv. 221 There lyeth foorth farther out a fouresquare beame or spire, made hollow with a direct and streight passage of a narrow riggall or trough. 1639in J. J.
