trisulphate Chem.|traɪˈsʌlfət| [f. tri- 5 + sulphate.] A compound formed from three molecules of sulphuric acid, H2SO4, by replacement of the hydrogen by a metal or radical, and thus containing three SO4 groups; e.g. aluminium trisulphate, Al2(SO4)3; glyceryl and hydrogen trisulphate, (C3H5) {ppp}H3(SO4)3.
