galangin Chem.|gəˈlæŋgɪn, gəˈlændʒɪn| [a. G. galangin (E. Jahns 1881, in Ber. d. Deut. Chem. Ges. XIV. 2385), f. galanga + -in1.] A derivative of flavone, 3,5,7-tri-hydroxyflavone, present in a species of galingale (Alpinia officinarum).
