‖ gattoˈrugine [mod.Lat. (Willughby Hist. Pisc. 1686) a. alleged It. (Venetian) gattoruggine, ‘quasi cattus rubiginosus’ (!).] A species of blenny. Hence gattoˈruginous a., epithet of this species.
