Fennoscandia Geol.|fɛnəʊˈskændɪə| Also Fenno-Scandia, Fennoskandia. [ad. G. fennoskandisch adj. (W. Ramsay 1904, in Fennia XXI. vii. 44), f. L. Fenn-i the Finns + -o: see Scandian a.] An ancient land mass in north-western Europe comprising most of Scandinavia and Finland and parts of the Soviet Union west of the White Sea. Also in extended use, Scandinavia and Finland as a political unit. Hence Fennoˈscandian, ˌFennoscandiˈnavian adjs.
