gnocchi, n. pl. (ˈnɒkɪ, ‖ ˈɲɔkki) [It., pl. of gnocco, f. nocchio a knot in wood.] Small dumplings made with flour, semolina, potato, etc., cooked and served with cheese or seasoning.
